In a company as large and wide as IHG, you’d expect people to feel like they’d fly under the radar with the only company priority – commercial success. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. IHG is committed to ensuring that DE&I isn’t seen as a box checking exercise. They want their colleagues to feel recognised, respected and to know that this is a long-term cultural investment.

Doing so much for their colleagues already, this was an opportunity to lead with a message that has dual-meaning. ‘We hear you’ speaks to the focus of the leadership team to understand and listen to their colleagues through their active internal learning sessions. It is also a direct promise to everyone in the business. Deliberately present tense, it isn’t just a one off exercise. It’s more than just a few posters dotted around the office. It’s a change for inclusive onboarding and an encouragement to use colleagues’ global experiences in an exchange of cultural insights.

We wanted the visuals and the messaging of this campaign to tell the honest and immediate truth about DE&I at IHG. We use authentic storytelling of IHG colleagues alongside here-and-now statistics that hold IHG accountable to their commitment for change. A distinctly human approach, to a very raw and personal issue.

Designed to be wholeheartedly authentic and inclusive, this campaign creative used closely cropped portraits with personal headlines placed just below the eyeline to create an intimacy.

Sara has always been a joy to work with. Her can-do attitude, creativity and expertise mean we've had great results time after time on various deliverables for our internal and external communications projects.
